STEAC STORIES

2026 STEAC Education Campaign

Learn more about our Education Campaign.

In 2025, the inaugural STEAC Education Scholarship Program launched its first cohort, awarding scholarships to 21 students attending Woodland Community College or Sacramento City College. This model provides flexible funding that may be used for any education related expenses or basic needs during the school year. This empowers students to determine where support will make the greatest impact—whether that is textbooks, school supplies, transportation, childcare, or other essential academic costs. STEAC supported local students pursuing degrees in fields like nursing, education, social work, and business — careers that strengthen our entire community.

With your help, we can do even more.

Many of our scholarship recipients are the first in their family to attend college. They are balancing coursework with jobs, caregiving responsibilities, and financial hardship. For them, a scholarship is not just financial support but an affirmation, encouragement, and the freedom to focus on their education instead of worrying about how to pay for books or other essentials. One recent STEAC scholarship recipient shared:

“The scholarship meant a lot to me. It was the first one I qualified for and it made me feel seen. That STEAC believes in me and that I am capable of making a better future for myself and my community.

When you give to STEAC’s Scholarship Program, you are doing more than funding tuition. You are helping:

A first-generation college student stay enrolled.

A future teacher return to the classroom.

A parent set an example in completing a degree.
