Services Provided
STEAC provides assistance to low income residents of Yolo County with the following programs.
Programs
Homelessness Prevention
Goal: Help Yolo County’s low-income residents through an emergency in order to keep them from joining the ranks of the homeless. Learn how to get help.
Eviction Prevention
STEAC provides rental assistance to keep low-income residents from being evicted.
First Month's Rent
STEAC provides assistance to help pay for first month’s rent and/or deposit for long-term housing.
Utility Assistance/ Bill Pay
STEAC can assist with payment of utility bills to prevent them from being turned off or to have them restored.
STEAC can also assist with bill payments for unexpected expenses such as funeral costs, car repairs, and more.

Helping Hands
Goal: Help provide everyday needs for the most vulnerable residents.
Feeding The Hungry
STEAC holds weekly food distributions out of the STEAC Food Pantry for Davis residents who may be experiencing food insecurity. Clients can visit once a month and receive a mix of perishable and non-perishable items enough for three meals a day, for five days, for each member of the household.
Food Packs For Kids
In partnership with schools in the Davis Joint Unified School District, this program provides weekend packs of non-perishable foods to school children who may be facing food insecurity. The program is designed to help children stave off hunger over the weekend so that they come to school Monday morning well-nourished and able to focus.
Holiday Adopt-A-Family
Food and gifts are donated by community members to low income Davis individuals and families during the December holiday season.

Road to Independence
Goal: Help low-income Yolo County residents overcome the barriers to becoming employed. Learn how to get help.
Legal Documents And Other Family Expenses
STEAC can assist with payments for driver’s licenses/ ID cards, birth certificates, notary services, and more.
Education
The STEAC Education Program can assist low-income community college students who are Yolo County residents pay for their textbooks. Assistance is available for the fall and spring semesters.
Forklift Operator Training
STEAC provides assistance for residents to train to earn a Forklift Operator Certificate.
Food Handler Certification And Food Manager Certification
STEAC provides assistance for residents to train to earn a Food Handler and/or Food Manager Certificates.
Clothing Program
STEAC can assist families or individuals in need of everyday or work/ interview clothing by providing gift vouchers to local consignment stores in Yolo County.
