This GivingTuesday we are raising funds to purchase winter essentials that will be distributed to unhoused clients through our Homeless Backpack Distribution event. Every winter season, STEAC distributes over 70 backpacks that contain cold weather items like warm hats, gloves, and tarps, to our homeless community.

In January of 2024, the Yolo County Homeless and Poverty Action Coalition (HPAC) conducted their annual Homeless Count and identified nearly 950 individuals who were experiencing homelessness across Yolo County on a single night. Recent data trends show that homelessness is on the rise across the County and State, leaving more individuals seeking resources for basic needs now more than ever. This year has also proven to be challenging for many organizations as changes in administration priorities has impacted housing and housing initiatives, further adding to the demand of resources.
