Interested in learning more about affordable housing?

Ian Evans, Executive Director of the Yolo County Housing Authority, joins us to present on his work and projects related to affordable housing in this next installment of the STEAC Speaker Series.

The Yolo County Housing Authority works to provide low-income housing across the County. They currently manage Housing Vouchers for the area, ensuring low-income families, seniors, and migrant workers remain housed. They also support local community development initiatives to help create strong and self sufficient communities.

Ian’s work background ranges from mental health, substance use, homelessness, and more. He oversaw the development and formal adoption of the Yolo County Plan to Address Homelessness in 2019 and was also involved in the most recent 2023-206 Plan (read here). This plan is key in helping bring additional affordable housing to our communities. During his time with the Yolo County Hosing Authority, Ian and his team have nearly doubled the number of available Project Based Housing Vouchers, ensuring at least 100 housing units will remain affordable for at least 20 years and additional affordable housing be built.
