Helping Hands
STEAC lends a helping hand to Yolo County community members who may be facing food insecurity through our various food programs. STEAC’s food assistance helps families, individuals, unhoused neighbors, school children, and seniors from going hungry.
Feeding the Hungry
STEAC provides enough free food to Davis residents once a month for three meals a day for five days for each member of the family.
Food Pack for Kids
This program provides a weekend bag of food to elementary and high school students who participate in the School Lunch Program. It is designed to help children stave off hunger over the weekend so they come to school Monday morning well-nourished and able to focus.
Holiday Adopt-A-Family
Food and gifts are donated by community members to low income Davis individuals and families during the December holiday season.

How can you help?
- Come pack with us! We distribute hundreds of kids packs every month to schools across Davis and Winters. Join our next packing event and help fill bags with food. Check availability here.
- Become a food donor and donate every other month through the STEAC Food Project. Best part, food is collected directly from your doorstep.
- Support our community partners who set up food drives with proceeds donated to the STEAC Food Pantry. This includes Boy and Girl Scouts- Scouting for Food Drive (March), Davis Post Office- Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive (May), Independence From Hunger Campaign (partnership with Davis Grocery Outlet all through July), Davis Realtors Food Drive (Fall), and more.
- Host your own food drive for STEAC! With your local Church, business, neighborhood, or family, it’s a fun way to give back to our local community.
- Donate money to support STEAC’s food programs online or by sending a check in the mail. A $50 donation buys 25 meals for a STEAC Food Pantry client.
- Volunteer at the Food Pantry or during food sorting events. Check out our volunteer application for current needs.
