About Speaker Series
The mission of STEAC is to provide immediate short-term assistance with basic necessities to Yolo County families and individuals with income below the poverty level. In addition, STEAC is committed to enlarging the social awareness of the community and to provide opportunities for local citizens to help others in need.
It is the second part of our mission that was the impetus for creating these speaker events.
Our purpose is to provide a forum for local experts in the fields related to STEAC’s mission to share their knowledge and perspective to our STEAC community of staff, volunteers and donors. Our intention is to add to the community conversation around poverty to increase public awareness and inform our actions as individuals and an organization.
If you have some great ideas on who could be a speaker, we are looking for you! STEAC strives to be a volunteer led organization and is creating a “Speakers Committee” to research, nominate, and select the future speakers for what we intend to be a permanent program here at STEAC. If you are interested, please send an email to [email protected] and we will get you more information.
