STEAC provides food, clothing and holiday boxes to the most vulnerable people in Yolo County. You can be a part of this effort by donating items to the different STEAC closets and programs.
STEAC Food Closet provides emergency food and some personal hygiene items, such as diapers, for Davis residents, homeless families and individuals. Public health laws do not allow STEAC to distribute home prepared foods or precooked leftovers from functions to our clients, even if prepared by commercial establishments. Also STEAC cannot distribute any opened packages of staples (including spices and condiments), out of date packages or dented cans.
To donate, call the STEAC services line at (530) 758-5444, and a volunteer will give you an appointment to drop off your donation at the food closet on the south east corner of 5th and D streets. If your organization, business or church would like to do a large food drive, please first contact the STEAC office at (530) 758-8435 or email at steac@steac.org to ensure the closet has space and volunteers to sort your donation.
STEAC Clothing Closet is maintained with donations from the community. Items must be in good condition, clean and ready to wear. To donate call the STEAC services line at (530) 758-5444, a volunteer will give you an appointment to drop off your donation at the clothing closet. Please do not leave donations outside the building if no one is there to receive them. This causes problems with pest infestation! Presorting clothing by size/gender is a big help to STEAC volunteers.
